38th Annual School Health Conference
The UTMB Annual School Health Conference overall goal is to enhance the knowledge of the registered nurse in school health nursing and practice as a means to promote health among school age and adolescent children in our surrounding communities. UTMB Nursing Service, UTMB School of Nursing and the Department of Pediatrics co-sponsor the program. Numerous healthcare leaders graciously contribute their time, energy and expertise in working together to work wonders.
Theme: Reach for the Stars!
Title: Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice (TM)
Description: The registered nurse will develop an awareness of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Framework for 21st Century School Nurse Practice (TM) evidence-based principles and practice components with regard to the framework and standards of practice, leadership excellence, diabetes management, self-harm in children, physician consultation, quality improvement, communicating with vaccine-concerned parents, environmental influences on student health, and indicate intent to change practice within the context of the students’ family and school community on their post activity evaluation tool.
