The McGovern Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences invites all mental health professionals from across the country to join us for the 2017 Houston Mood Disorders Conference. This year’s focus is on the “Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Bipolar Disorder.”

The Houston Mood Disorders Conference is a two-day event that brings together the best minds in our field to explore today’s greatest clinical challenges and most recent advances in treatment. Against a backdrop of traditional knowledge about complex cases in every age group, sessions will outline a practical framework for applying today’s most promising applications of medication, psychotherapy, procedures and psychosocial interventions – all based on the newest insights from current research.

The goal is to improve the quality of life for patients by identifying bipolar disorder at its earliest stages, and providing the resources for all mental health professionals to guide patients in receiving the most relevant treatment. Specific sessions include:

  • Pediatric Bipolar Disorder
  • Diagnosis and Treatment across Mood States
  • Psychosocial Interventions
  • Clinical Challenges
