D. Anderson Cancer Center and Hermann Hospital. TMC Laundry is distinguished as a pace-setting nationally-known institution among hospital laundries. Service began on a cooperative basis in 1974. Annually approximately 7 million pounds of clean linen is provided to both hospitals and medical clinics. Packs of linen are sterilized for use in surgery. Other linen is processed following standards set for hospitals themselves. TMC Laundry has capacity for additional volume of linen service for not-for-profit medical institutions.

Laundry equipment used at TMC Laundry is state-of-the-art. One washer is approximately 11 feet high, 35 feet long and processes 1100 pounds at a time. Chemicals are automatically injected to electronically-controlled wash formulas based on the type of linen being processed. Each dryer holds up to 400 pounds per load.
