JLABS, part of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, provides an environment that empowers more than 140 emerging life science companies to succeed. Through its North American network of state-of-the-art laboratories and core research facilities, JLABS accelerates transformative health care solutions by providing essential resources and connections to early-stage innovators developing technologies in medical devices, consumer health and pharmaceuticals.
JLABS @ TMC provides startups with access to a turnkey infrastructure that includes singular bench tops, modular wet lab units, office space and specialized equipment. Spanning 34,000 square feet of the TMC Innovation Institute, the incubator also houses JLABS’ first medical device prototype lab.
As they work to translate their life-changing ideas into products, members of the JLABS community have access to Johnson & Johnson’s global network of dealmakers, investors and scientists, as well as input from experts in R&D and commercialization—all in a no-strings-attached model. They also have access to the Texas Medical Center, including neighboring health and life science accelerator TMCx. In addition, a robust JLABS life science innovator curriculum gives entrepreneurs the knowledge to navigate one of the most complex and highly regulated industries in the world.
The JLABS network includes six facilities located in San Diego, San Francisco, South San Francisco, Boston, Houston and Toronto. As in Houston, each center is staffed with professional operations management, enabling resident scientists to focus on what they do best: innovate.
