Ryan Holeywell

Communications Manager, Health Policy Institute

Ryan Holeywell is the communications manager for the Texas Medical Center Health Policy Institute, where he works to ensure its analyses and research reach member institutions, journalists, policymakers and the public. Before joining the Health Policy Institute, he oversaw communications at Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research.

Holeywell spent more than a decade as an award-winning journalist in Texas and Washington, D.C., writing for publications including the Houston Chronicle and Governing magazine. Holeywell’s work has been published by the Washington Post and USA Today, among other outlets, and he has appeared on CNN, CNBC and NPR to discuss his reporting.

Holeywell, a Houston native, earned his bachelor’s degree in political communication from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Missouri. You can reach him at rholeywell@tmc.edu.
