YADIN DAVID, M.Sc., Ph.D., P.E., C.C.E., H.S.P., FAIMBE
He is responsible for the initiation and technical development of the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital TeleHealth Center. Dr. David is the Director of the TeleHealth Center at Texas Children's Hospital and he is also serving as the first elected President of the Center for Telemedicine Law (CTL). Dr. David received his Master and Doctorate degrees from West Virginia University in 1975, and 1983 respectively. He holds academic appointments of Adjunct Associate Professor in Anesthesia at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and of Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics Baylor College of Medicine. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Clinical Engineer, and a Certified International Healthcare Safety Professional. Dr. David is a member of the General Hospital Devices Panel and of the Neurological Devices Panel of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Technical Committee of the NFPA-99 Health Care Facilities, Chairman of the Laser Safety Committee NFPA-115, and past member of the Committee on Health Care Safety of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). He is active in professional organizations where he served as chairman of the IEEE/Health Care Engineering Policy Committee, and on the Clinical Engineering and Medical Technology Management Committee and on the Education Committee of the American Society for Hospital Engineering (ASHE). He is a founding fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) and a charter member and Past President of the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE). Dr. David was instrumental in the creation of the Healthcare Engineering and Technology Policy Working Group and served as Vice-Chairman of its Execute Committee within the SPIE Society. Dr. David has published over 100 abstracts, articles, and chapters in scientific literature. Together with Thomas Judd he published the book on "Principles and Practices of Medical Technology Management", and the Clinical Engineering Section in the "Biomedical Engineering Handbook" published by CRC Press (1995) and the Electrical Safety and Risk Control Chapter in the ACritical Care Monitoring; From Pre-Hospital to the ICU@, published by Mosby-Year Book, Inc (1995). He lectures extensively both nationally and internationally on Biomedical Engineering, Technology Management topics, and Telemedicine.
